ElliQ: The AI Companion Bringing Joy and Support to Seniors’ Lives
In Coral Springs, Florida, Joyce Loaiza, who lives by herself in a seniors’ community, often talks to a kind voice robot named ElliQ when she gets back to her apartment. This same voice comforted 83-year-old Deanna Dezern in a tough time, plays music and games for 92-year-old Marie Broadbent in New York, and helps 83-year-old Jan Worrell in Washington state make friends.
These ladies are among the first to use this robot created by Intuition Robotics. This robot is special because it’s made to help older people feel less lonely. It uses artificial intelligence to do this.
Loaiza, who is 81, enjoys talking to her ElliQ in Fort Lauderdale. She calls it “Jellybean.” It can make comments and remember things about each person to make conversations more personal. It can talk about anything from life’s big questions to simple daily topics.
ElliQ can tell jokes, play music, and give uplifting quotes. It comes with a screen that shows tours of cities and museums. The robot also helps with exercises, checks on the owner’s health, and reminds them to take medicines and drink water. It can make video calls and reach out to family, friends, or doctors if needed.
Intuition Robotics ensures that the conversations stay private and are not heard by the company. The information is kept only on the owner’s ElliQ device. Click to read more about AI News.
